The Town of Alton Bay, New Hampshire is embarking on a comprehensive parks master plan for the first time in the town's history. This comes in a timely fashion, as the town's updated comprehensive plan was released earlier in 2026 -- the parks master plan will serve as an addendum, guiding the direction for maintenance and programming for parks and recreation for the next 20 years.
As Alton Bay’s planning and parks departments works together to create this Parks & Recreation Master Plan, they will need feedback and insight from the community. Be on the lookout for information about town halls, charettes, informal discussions, and focus groups about what you currently enjoy about Alton Bay’s park system and recreation opportunities, as well as what you want to see designed, implemented, and programmed for the future! Together, the people of Alton Bay can build off the existing infrastructure to have an even stronger and healthier park and recreation system for the wonderful town.
